The Blumberg Institute is committed to training future generations of scientists through academic programs designed for students from high school through graduate studies.

In partnership with Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, we offer a Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree taught by Blumberg faculty, preparing students for careers in medicine, science and education.

We also host Masters and doctoral students from Drexel University and The University of Pennsylvania. Medical students from Xavier University train in our labs. And we offer summer research internships for college undergraduate and high school students in our labs and public health programs.

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology and the Blumberg Institute have teamed up to offer graduate-level biotechnology certificates to prepare working professionals with workforce and leadership skills within the biotechnology industry. Beginning with the Fall 2021 semester, the Biotechnology Certificate Program will be offered in partnership with the Blumberg Institute. Student participants take a course on-site, either AP Chemistry or a Biotechnology Research Elective, and take part in a research internship with a mentor. During this experience, participants also engage in an independent research project.
