Position Details

Title: Director of Human Resources
Location: Doylestown, PA

The Hepatitis B Foundation (HBF), the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute (BSBI), and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) are three collaborating nonprofit organizations dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected with chronic hepatitis B worldwide. They are located in Doylestown, PA. The HBF, BSBI and PABC are mission-driven nonprofits that foster a culture of collaboration, professional and personal growth. Key Responsibilities

1.   Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Post job openings on various Career platforms. .
  • Prepare offer letters and conduct background checks for new hires.
  • Onboard new employees in Paychex Flex hiring system,  and manage benefits enrollment.

2.   Payroll Management:

  • Prepare monthly payrolls for HBF and BSBI.
  • Enter pay increases and manage payroll reports.

3.   Benefits Administration:

  • Set up and terminate employees in 401K and Paychex systems.
  • Upload monthly 401K reports in Provider’s system.
  • Maintain PTO systems in Paychex Flex

4.   Compliance and Reporting:

  • Process J1 Visa applications in SEVIS system,   and work with Lawyer on H1B Visas.
  • Complete 401K Census and review Form 5500 annually. .
  • Coordinate annual 401K meetings for employees..
  • Prepare annual form 1095C for BSBI employees.
  • Assist Accounting Department with payroll documents needed for annual Audit.

5.   Insurance Renewals and Coordination:

  • Work with  Insurance Company, for health and property insurance renewals.
  • Review and suggest health insurance options for HBF and BSBI, and handle annual benefits renewal .

6.     Organizational policies and staff development;

  • Take the lead in updating employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Organize staff development and training opportunities, and help expand a culture of staff development and support.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, or a related field.
  • HR Certification (e.g. SHRM), is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HR is required.Experience with Paychex Flex system, including Payroll, Onboarding, Benefits Administration, and Time and Attendance is required
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, compliance, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
