Academic Programs

The Blumberg Institute is committed to training future generations of scientists through academic programs designed for students from high school through graduate studies.

In partnership with Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, we offer a Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) degree taught by Blumberg faculty, preparing students for careers in medicine, science and education.

We also host Masters and doctoral students from Drexel University and The University of Pennsylvania. Medical students from Xavier University train in our labs. And we offer summer research internships for college undergraduate and high school students in our labs and public health programs.

The Hepatitis B Foundation's high school programs, run by Blumberg Institute scientists, are supported by generous donors providing financial support through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC).

Here are the current donors:

  • Customers Bank
  • Fred Beans Family of Dealerships
  • Mid Penn Bank
  • Softerware, Inc.
  • Univest Financial
  • Waste Management, Inc.
  • Weis Markets, Inc.

Thank you very much to our generous EITC donors!
